Hebrews 2:10-13 Bringing Many Sons Unto Glory

Hebrews 2:10-12 (KJV)  For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

Christ identified Himself with man, being fully man and yet He is fully God. For life come through Him and is sustained by Him. Eternal life comes to men who come to Him and look to Him for salvation. Christ brings salvation to men through suffering.

Christ condescended in the incarnation to take on human flesh, to suffer for sin and yet Himself is without sin. He is God’s pure and sinless Lamb whose sacrifice will take away our sins. All who will look to Him as their Substitute for sin. What a selfless act of sacrifice on our behalf.

We can identify ourselves with Him for He suffered for us and we can sing praise to Him for having been redeemed by Him who is the Captain or Enactor of our salvation, making it possible for us to enjoy eternal life through faith in His Name. Amen.
