Romans 3:28 Justified by Faith

Romans 3:28 (KJV)  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

In God’s sight, men are estranged from Him because of their sins. As articulated in the Ten Commandments, the law of God exposes men’s sinfulness. It shows their lost estate. And therefore, it is pointed out that men cannot be acquitted from the trangressions of the law that they are inevitably to commit.

By his innate ability, fallen men has failed to keep the law. Therefore, they are guilty in the sight of God, the Law Giver. In thier miserably estate, filled with shame and fear, God intervened to justify them. He did so by sending His own Son, to enter human history. He is called the Christ. And Christ took on human flesh, conceived in the virign Mary’s womb, born and named Jesus, the sinless Son of God.

Jesus lived a sinless life, obeyed all of God’s law on our behalf. Jesus was crucified on the cross as the sinless Lamb of God, to take away our sins. His body was broken and His blood was shed to wash away our sins. Jesus defeated sin and death and hell, the judgment for transgressing the laws of God, by rising from the dead the third day.

All who trust in what Jesus had come on their behalf, is justified before God, on account of Christ being our Substitute to take the punishment for our sins. Hence, all who believe Christ’s atoning work on their behalf, turned from their sins, is justified or saved from their sins. God’s wrath is averted. They are accorded eternal life in Christ, promised a heavenly inheritance. Amen.
