1 John 5:15 The Petitions That We Desired of Him

1 John 5:15 (KJV)  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

God hears our prayers. When we come to Him, He will receive us. Our prayers will be answered. This is the thrust of the text. We do not doubt after bringing our petitions to God in prayer but trust Him to do all things well.

Luke 11:9-10 (KJV)  And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Mark 11:24 (KJV)  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Matthew 21:22 (KJV)  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

James 1:5-6 (KJV)  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Let us rest in Him, trusting in His wisdom, power and love to do exceedingly on our behalf. Amen.
