Ephesians 2:18 Through Christ

Ephesians 2:18 (KJV)  For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Through Christ, we are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God (Eph. 2:19). Belonging to God’s kingdom, we have an eternal inheritance, and this access begins when the Holy Spirit indwells the believer in effecting spiritual birth.

The Holy Spirit is that selfsame Spirit, the third person of the Godhead that grants us access to the Father in heaven. This is so because Jesus, the second person of the Godhead, accomplished the work of redemption in His incarnation, entering human history in the virgin birth, wherein the sinless Son of God took on human flesh, fulfilled all the law on our behalf, crucified for our sake on the cross, defeat sin and death for us by His death and His resurrection three days later.

Jesus’ ascension to heaven to be at the right hand of the Father fulfils this access for us to right our every wrong through the prayer of confession and repentance – 1 John 2:1 (KJV)  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Amen.
