2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord Is Faithful

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV)  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

The Apostle Paul gives a stark reality of a broken and fallen world when he said in 2 Thessalonians 3:2 (KJV)  And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

Not a declaration for the discouragement of the brethren, but an encouragement to look to God who is always faithful and an encouragement for God’s people to remain faithful because we have a faithful God who is able to do all things well in our lives.

In particular, He has the power to protect us from the attack of the evil one. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sins and shields us from the wiles of the devil. A careful study of the Book of Job will strengthen our faith to know how God protected us from Satan’s attacks. The evil one is but a puppet pulled from the strings of the third heaven.

The Apostle John likewise affirms God’s protection upon us by the indwelling Holy Spirit when he testified in 1 John 4:4 (KJV)  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

May the Lord strengthen us to trust and follow Him according to His holy commandments. Amen.
