Romans 15:4 Patience and Comfort of the Scriptures

Romans 15:4 (KJV)  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

The Word of God brings spiritual strength to support spiritual life. The Bible is the most-read book in the world. It has only one edition, God spoke by His Spirit and holy men wrote. Scripture brings hope to its readers. This comes when one is led by the Spirit of God to embrace the promises of God for salvation, cleansing from sin, and eternal life.

More so, Scripture is the believer’s companion through their times of affliction. It enables the believer to find the strength needed in times of sore trials and temptations. The examples of the saints who cried to God and found their present help in the LORD whom they called upon encouraged the readers to find wisdom and comfort in their time of discouragement and distress.

The Psalms are particularly written for all situations in life and bring the word of encouragement needed for every situation. Let us appropriate His Word for our spiritual nourishment on this new day. Amen.
