Isaiah 61:10 Greatly Rejoice in the LORD

Isaiah 61:10 (KJV)  I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

The prophet Isaiah extols the LORD for the great salvation that was accorded him. With great rejoicing and joy, it will be in the very soul of his being. This salvation that was given him is a covering.

This is well depicted when God clothed Adam and Eve after their fall that covered their nakedness and the shame when the glory of God departed from them in Genesis 3:21 (KJV)  Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. It pre-figured the righteousness that Christ wrought for our salvation at Calvary when He hung on the cross to bear the penalty for our sins.

The church is called the bride of Christ as we await the Bridegroom’s return to bring us to heaven’s glory. We shall be arrayed with incorruption and immortality when at the moment – 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 (KJV)  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

We await that glorious day. Amen.
