1 Corinthians 2:12 The Spirit Which is of God

1 Corinthians 2:12 (KJV)  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 

Spiritual things are understood through the guidance of the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer – John 16:13 (KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

This is opposed to the spirit of the world, controlled and led by the evil one. It misleads us and misinforms us and literally harms us. Why should Christians bring their children to receive instruction from the world? This is sad. It will lead to no good end.

The Apostle Paul praises God for instruction in the truth of His Word which God’s people can receive by the help of the Holy Spirit as Scripture is opened in every home, every Bible-believing church. Thank God for His good word. Let us appropriate it with prayer for our eternal blessing. Amen.
