Psalm 73:25-26 God Is the Strength of My Heart

Psalm 73:25-26 (KJV)  Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

The search for a solid pillar to lean upon in the time of need found the psalmist owning God for giving him strength in those times when his body and heart failed him. This was the same searching that went through Peter’s heart when he said to Jesus at the end of John’s Gospel chapter 6.

John 6:67-68 (KJV)  Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

The search ends and the tossing in our life stops when we own Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. When we acknowledged Christ, we find our sins forgiven in Christ as we forsake them.

Truly, in heaven or on earth, our God is Lord overall. Therefore, we can safely and securely entrust our lives to His care and fret no more. Amen.
