2 Corinthians 4:6 The Light of the Knowledge of the Glory of God

2 Corinthians 4:6 (KJV)  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Knowing Jesus Christ is the greatest single event blessing for every soul. Not knowing Jesus Christ is the greatest single event of regret for every soul. The knowledge, we are told by the Apostle Paul, is from God. He commanded the light of the gospel to shine in our dark, sin-stricken hearts.

To acknowledge Jesus Christ who is the Giver of our life and the Sustainer thereof is the greatest of all knowledge. The penitent thief on the cross received this blessing just before he took his last breath when Jesus said to him, “Today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.”

He saw in the face of our Lord Jesus Christ, battered and bruised, His Saviour. The One who bore his sins and took the wrath of God for his sins and to deliver him from the penalty of sin which is eternal death in hell fire.

Thank God He still commands today that light shines into darkened hearts to give the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Amen.
