Psalm 52:8-9 Trust and Praise

Psalm 52:8-9 (KJV)  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

The picture of a man nourished and growing and flourishing because of the lovingkindness of God in his life. It is deserving continual praise. To see that it is most blessed to entrust and surrender ourselves to God’s leading, the psalmist extols the faithfulness of God in His care for him.

Faith is strengthened by experience in seeing God fulfilling His promises again and again. He will wait upon God in all things and it is indeed a blessed testimony to the people of God to see God’s blessing.

When we have the Lord as our protector and preserver, we can be fruitful abiding in Him. He never fails and never will. Therefore, there is a quiet confidence that is characteristic of a man living always in the presence of God, resting and residing in His house. Amen.
