2 Corinthians 5:7 We Walk By Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

It does not require seeing to be believing. Rather having not seen but believing is true faith. It is grounded upon the Word of God. The children of Israel became upset and angry with Moses when there was again a water shortage (Exodus 17:1-7) after they came out of Egypt for just 45 days. It was a test of faith.

Exodus 17:2 (KJV)  Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Israel had to learn to trust God to care for them even though it seemed impossible to find water in the barren desert land.

Exodus 17:6 (KJV)  Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

By Israel’s experience, God’s people are taught to call upon Him in their time of need and find Him always faithful in His provision for their needs.

We walk by faith, not by sight! Amen.
