Philippians 3:13-14 Reaching Forth

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

A consecrated life comprehends a divine mission to finish the race. The Apostle Paul said, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” There is a prize that awaits a consecrated life, set for the honour and glory of God.

The Spirit of God guides and energizes, directs and comforts so that human misery and its sorrows are turned to the rounding up of the chosen ones of Christ. There is a sense of understanding to wait upon God and a readiness to move and act according to His prompting.

There is a reaching forth, that brings focus and blessing. There is joy in the endeavour and there is peace in the pursuit, there is rest at the end of the journey. Amen.
