Psalm 119:16 I Will Not Forget Thy Word

Psalm 119:16 (KJV)  I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. 

Trained in the school of affliction, the psalmist extols the efficacy of God’s Word.

He says Psalm 119:15 (KJV)  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. 

Taking time to learn God’s Word has proven to be the way of wisdom. And therefore, it is most appropriate to praise God for the strength that he received meditating upon the Word.

Hence, he was convinced of the long-term benefits of God’s Word and set himself to remember it in his heart and practice it in his daily life. It is time well spent and time well invested. God’s Word is fulfilled in full measure in his daily experience and therefore with great rejoicing he celebrated life with his LORD. Amen.
