Isaiah 50:4 To Speak a Word in Season

Isaiah 50:4 (KJV)  The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

How blessed is the wisdom that God bestows upon His people to enable them to speak a word in season. Appropriate words that minister comfort to the weary and strength to the heart of the weak. How good are the words of God for they never fail to bring good tidings of great joy to the crestfallen!

How much must the people of God be immersed in God’s comfortable words that we may give a word of encouragement in season and even out of season! Such is the power of God’s gracious words that ministers to the needs of the men’s failing hearts.

The tongue of the learned, not learned in worldly ways, but in the ways of God, that brings God’s blessing truly to His people and those without the faith, may be provoked to consider the good ways of God. Amen.
