Proverbs 3:3-4 Mercy and Truth Forsake Not

Proverbs 3:3-4 (KJV)  Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Mercy means “goodness, kindness”, kindness especially as extended to the lowly, needy and miserable. A heart of compassion toward the lost as exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ – Matthew 9:35-36 (KJV)  And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Truth is encompassed in the Person of Christ – John 14:6 (KJV)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Let Christ be the foundation of our life, the enactor of our thoughts, that our life may be well-pleasing to our Father in heaven and that we may be an ambassador for Christ to a dying world. That our lives may bring eternal impact upon other lives for Christ’s sake. Amen.
