Psalm 92:13 Flourish in the Courts of Our God

Psalm 92:13 (KJV)  Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

The tree that is planted in the courtyard of the house tenderly cared for brings fruit in its season. The imagery of fruitfulness is the picture here as it is cared for by our infinitely loving God.

The word “flourish” is a gardening term that means “to cause to bud”. With the budding comes the fruiting. The house of the LORD is here symbolical of God’s presence and speaks of communion with God. And “LORD” speaks of the personal covenantal relationship between the psalmist and God. It was intimate and thriving.

Therefore, here is a picture of fruitfulness when we abide with God in His House. He is the Source of wisdom and strength, of nourishment and stability.

For the believer, communion with God is his greatest privilege there the Spirit ministers comfort, solace and encouragement. The soul is well nourished in the courts of our God.

Let us abide in Him this day and find sweet fellowship and communion in His presence. Amen.
