Revelation 16:10-11; His Kingdom Was Full of Darkness

Revelation 16:10-11 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

This 5thbowl was targeted against the Antichrist and his kingdom. Darkness suddenly came upon the kingdom of the Antichrist. Like the 9thplague before the Exodus, the darkness came upon Egypt without warning! There was great suffering inflicted upon the Antichrist and his subjects. Ryrie said well, “The 5thplague comes on the “throne” of the Beast and brings darkness to the seat of his government. Apparently, Antichrist will not have enough time then to be able to enforce his edict on all the world. Undoubtedly, this slows up his attempt to force all people to worship him or be killed. The result of this plague is that people gnaw their tongues and blaspheme God for their pains and sores (which they received under the previous judgments and which are still with them.”

Exodus 10:21-23 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darknesswhichmay be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

Proverbs 1:23-33 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Indeed,it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31).
