Revelation 15:1; The Revelation Story

Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

The Revelation story, a futuristic commentary of events to come, unfolds for us the message of God’s love for His people and judgment upon the rebellious! And God’s rule upon earth culminating in the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:4-6 (KJV) John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace beunto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

For the people of God, it is a joyful expectation to be reunited with our Saviour, as a bride with her bridegroom. But for the unbelieving and unconverted, it is a fearful awaiting of judgment to come.

It is a trigger point for us to understand that for the people of God, this world is not our eternal home, but we are in a transit to a better home. It changes our perspective concerning our priorities in life. We prepare ourselves in joyful expectation of the home to come. You may have the experience of decorating and preparing a new home, a happy anticipation to complete the renovation and to live in it.

John 14:1-3 (KJV) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it werenot so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, thereye may be also.

But for the unbelieving and the scorners of the gospel of salvation, time is ticking away and when death and judgment strikes, the eternal separation between heaven and hell begins. A frightening prospect for the unbelieving and yet they are not aware of the danger they are in.

Revelation 1:7-8 (KJV) Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they alsowhich pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Matthew 26:28 (KJV) 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

In 1829, George Wilson was adjudicated guilty and given the death sentence for murder. But, Wilson had some friends who petitioned President Andrew Jackson granted the pardon and it was brought to prison and given to Wilson.

To everyone’s surprise, Wilson said, “I am going to hang.” There had never been a refusal to a pardon, so the courts didn’t know what to do. Discussion went all the way to the Supreme Court and Justice John Marshall gave this ruling: “A pardon is a piece of paper, the value of which depends upon the acceptance by the person implicated. If he does not accept the pardon, then he must be executed.”

God loves you and want to pardon you, but if you refuse Him, you will die and go to hell. Cast yourself upon Him completely, and receive the free gift of His forgiveness today.

Have you repented of your sin and believed upon the atoning work of Christ’s blood on the cross? If not, turn to Him. Being good doesn’t get you to heaven. It is only Jesus.

There is an opposing force led by Satan and his demons seeking to deceive the world into believing man can rule God’s world. He is mistaken. There is a coming judgment for all unrepentant sinners.

Today, as we observe the happening of the American election, we see the playing out of this picture of good and evil, God and Satan.

May God be merciful to give time for the gospel as there are still many unsaved. May the Lord grant a great repelling of the New World Order for His Name’s sake.

Amen.
