Revelation 8:8-9; Sea Life Died and Ships Destroyed

Revelation 8:8-9 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

How many ships are at sea at any one time?

There are 50,732 active ships today including those at sea and in port. Review of Maritime Transport 2018 published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has the most accurate statistics on the current state of shipping worldwide.

A further breakdown is given below:

Of the around 53,000 merchant ships trading internationally, some 11,000 ships were bulk carriers. General cargo ships accounted for the majority of ships in the world merchant fleet as of January 1, 2019. The global merchant fleet How many ships are there in the world? General cargo ships are ranked as the most common type of ship in the global merchant fleet, accounting for about a third of the fleet: There were almost 17,000 such ships in the merchant fleet as of the beginning of 2019. Bulk carriers are ranked as the second most common type of ship in the world, accounting for over 20 percent of the global merchant fleet. There will be a great disruption in the supply chain with one-third of the ships destroyed. One-third of the sea creatures in the sea will also die. The supply of fish for human consumption will be reduced drastically.

The world trade will grind to almost a halt where ships will have to re-route from the disaster zones in the oceans. It is the angel that cast the great mountain burning with fire into the sea. The mountain will be uplifted from land and set on fire and cast into the ocean. What great power a single angel wields at the command of the Creator to catch men ‘s attention!

Psalm 2:10-12 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Amen.
