Revelation 2:26-29; The Morning Star

Revelation 2:26-29 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

The faithful are promised association with Christ in His millennial reign. And the morning star is with reference to Christ Himself to the immortal life that we receive from Him. And believers who have served Him faithfully would reflect Christ’s glory.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame andeverlasting contempt.3And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Verse 27 was taken from Psalm 2:9. In Psalm 2, we are given the picture of God’s Kingdom Resisted (v1-3) and how God quells every Rebellion (v4-5) with God’s Son Appointed to Rule (v6-9) and how God blesses all who serve Him (10-12). Amen.
