Revelation 1:6; To Him Be Glory and Dominion Forever and Ever

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We cannot begin to comprehend now what God will do for us in Christ. The Apostle John caught it, he understood it. He was given the vision of the blessings of God upon His children in the eternal future to come. Therefore, he writes emphatically, “to Him be glory and dominion for ever. Amen.” How wonderfully true is the Word of God’s promises. When we take hold of the blessings of the heaven to come, we are thankful to God that in Christ’s coming kingdom, we are royal subjects to the King of kings and Lord of lords. In fact, He shall make us kings and priests unto God. We willingly subsist under His dominion, under His care and headship.

The Apostle John saw the glory to come. He saw in substantial terms, the weight of the blessings to come. Jesus says to us in John 14:1-4 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it werenot so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Jesus also says in John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. This is the crux of the matter, because we are under the dominion of Christ, we have understood that only in Jesus Christ the way of eternal glory is opened to us. We rejoice in this truth and in His care for us here and now as Jesus promised in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

May we be courageous this day to follow Jesus in a hostile world. Amen.
