Revelation 1:4-5; The Seven Spirits

Revelation 1:4-5 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

The Holy Spirit is God. The fullness and perfect description of the Holy Spirit’s presence in the giving of this message to the churches is presented here as the Seven Spirits which is before the throne of God.

The prophet Isaiah provides a fitting description of the Spirit’s work when he explains in Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

Before His ascension, our Lord Jesus told His disciples that the Holy Spirit will the Father give to His people to be with them to comfort them, the Spirit that is given so that they may understand God’s truth – John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

This is the truth concerning the future that is revealed for His people so that they may know God’s will and be inclined to do it. Amen.
