Read The Bible in One Year

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

There is less than 4 months to the close of the year of grace 2019. We began the year with the re-launching the Read the Bible in One Year using “The One Year Bible”, with the entire King James Bible arranged in 365 daily readings. There were 15 copies of the “The One Year Bible” distributed amongst members and friends at the beginning of the year.

Recall the 17 February 2019 Weekly Newsletter:

“Begin your unforgettable journey today! Take the first step by reading The One Year Bible from cover to cover and see how God’s Word comes alive in your life. You’ll never be the same.”

Convenience: The One Year Bible is unique. No other “through the Bible” plan presents the entire Bible in a user-friendly format.

Unique Design: Each 15 minutes daily reading includes a portion from the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. This arrangement of Scripture brings variety and fresh approach to each day’s reading while providing a clear understanding of the Bible’s larger message.

Attractive Layout: Complicated reading charts are obsolete! The One Year Bible has a simple and attractive layout that makes it easy to use. It is also adaptable to two-and three-year reading plans.

Variety of Applications: The One Year Bible is ideal for personal devotions and instructional reading. It is also perfect for family Bible reading with children of allages.

Dear brethren, how are you doing in your Bible reading? I encourage you to persevere. If you have been consistently reading, I believe you have profited much spiritually. If you have been lagging in your reading, there is still time to catch up with your reading.  I urge you to give the best time of your day for the reading of God’s Word with prayer. As we have done in previous years, do come forward with your completed reading at the end of the year and a book mark certificate of accomplishment will be given to you for your good effort. This is a significant milestone in the believer’s journey of faith.

For our brethren who have been using “The Andrew Murray 365-Day Devotional Bible” for your reading since 2016, do come forward also with your completed reading at the end of the year and a book mark certificate will also be given to you. We have distributed approximately 90 copies to members and friends.

Treasuring Bible Reading

A poor prisoner, confined in a dungeon, had no light except for a few moments when food was brought to him. He used those moments to read the Bible, saying that he could find his mouth in the dark, whereas he could not read in the dark.

Henry Willis, an 81-year-old farmer, devoted every hour that could be spared from his labour during a long lifetime to the serious study of Holy Scriptures. He had read with the most detailed attention the whole Bible eight times over, and had proceeded as far as the Book of Job in his ninth reading when death overtook him.

History’s Saints Memorize Scriptures

Augustine says, that, after his conversion, he ceased to relish even Cicero, his former favourite author, and that the Scriptures were his pure delight. Spent a greater part of his time in reading the Scriptures, and committed large portions of them to memory.

Crammer is said to have been able to repeat the New Testament from memory. Luther was one of the most indefatigable students of the Bible that the world has ever seen.

Ridley said, “The walls and trees of my orchard, could they speak, would bear witness that there I learned by heart almost all the Epistles.” — Dr Plummer1

May the Lord bless His Word to the strengthening of our hearts and lives. Amen.
