2 Corinthians 9:15; His Unspeakable Gift

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

The Apostle Paul exhorted in this concluding thought on the exhortation to giving to forget not our God, our Giver, by which we have been greatly blessed. The gift of Jesus Christ, our Creator, Sustainer and Saviour must be received with utmost gratitude. We cannot fully account for the benefits that we have received through Christ. In every season of life, we give thanks to God. For in him we live, and move, and have our being (Acts 17:28). Indeed, such knowledge of our blessings cannot be told because it is too wonderful for words – indescribable, inexpressible.

For indeed, every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17). Here is an exhortation to thanksgiving!

Thankfulness For A Thorn

George Matheson, the well-known blind preacher of Scotland, now with the Lord, says: “My God, I have never thanked Thee for my ‘thorn!’ I have thanked Thee a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my ‘thorn’; I have been looking forward to a world where I shall get compensation for my cross as itself a present glory. Teach me the glory of my cross; teach me the value of my ‘thorn.’ Show me that I have climbed to Thee by the path of pain. Show me that my tears have made my rainbow.” — Moody Monthly¹

Praise God from Whom all Blessing Flow. Amen.
