2 Corinthians 5:7; We Walk By Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

The Apostle Paul shared the open secret of the blessed life with God through faith in God’s Word as revealed in the Scripture. And the yielding of the heart to believe and act upon God’s promises is to walk by faith. The believer is to believe in God through Christ and he shall see the glory of God’s presence with him moment by moment, day by day. A happy walk. He is not encumbered by external circumstances and persons but his focus is to be obedient to God’s will as revealed in His Word.

Enoch is a good example of one who walked with God. It is recorded in Genesis 5:21-24 twice that Enoch walked with God. And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5-6 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Enoch’s walk pleased God because he diligently sought God during his sojourn on earth before God brought him bodily to heaven. God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. This is the walk of faith. He took time to know the will of God and walked therein. He is a God-fearer and chose to obey God. This was his testimony of witnessing for God in his life time – Jude 14-15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

May the Lord help us to walk by faith. Amen.
