2 Corinthians 4:1-2; Honest Ministry

KJV 2 Corinthians 4:1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. (2 Cor. 4:1-2 KJV)
The Apostle Paul reasoned with the believers in Corinth that he persevered in the ministry because God put him there by His mercy. He was saved from blindness and given a new lease of life for service. He repaid his gospel debt through faithful service. There is an effervescing strength that God grants to his servants that they will not give up but press on in devotion and service.
He specifies the faithful service rendered unto the Lord toward the church in Corinth. He speaks of their service out of pure motives, their work honest in the sight of God whom they are accountable. He and his co-workers were careful in the handling of God’s Word so that the church may receive the truth and the truth may speak to their conscience aided by the Holy Spirit to strengthen their faith. They themselves can testify of the truth declared.
May the Lord grant His church faithful men who will serve Him for His honour and glory. Amen.
