2 Corinthians 2:12-13, A Door Was Opened Unto Me Of the Lord

2 Corinthians 2:12-13 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord, I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

When the Apostle Paul was in the city of Troas, God opened the door for the gospel work. He, however, did not stay in Troas to advance the gospel there because Titus who was supposed to meet him there did not turn up! Titus was on the errand for the Apostle Paul.

He had no peace of mind, bidding farewell to the church in Troas, he proceeded to Macedonia. The welfare of the Corinthian church was utmost in the Apostle Paul’s mind when he made that decision. Paul was unwilling to foster a new family in Troas at the expense of his children in Corinth, and his decision to leave behind a potentially fruitful ministry in Troas is a poignant testimony to the genuineness of his words in 1 Corinthians 4:15 “…  for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.”¹

Thank God for wise prioritization in the work of the ministry. Amen.
