1 Corinthians 16:5-7, If the Lord Permits

1 Corinthians 16:5-7 Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

Our lives are in the sovereign hand of God. He orders it according to His good pleasure. The Apostle Paul as a servant waiting upon his Master Jesus Christ. He sought to visit the church in Corinth. He commits his plans that the Lord may approve of them and directs or re-directs as He deems fit if the Lord permits.

James gives the same advice to let our plans under God’s purview and allow Him to direct when he says in James 4:15 “For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” We may make our plans through prayerful consideration and let us be willing to submit to His will to direct us.

When we make plans with God in our plans, we learn to yield to His leading and receive His blessings as He directs our footsteps. Amen.
