1 Corinthians 15:54, Death is Swallowed Up in Victory

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

The hymn “It is Well with My Soul” written Horatio G. Spafford with music by Philip Bliss articulated well the hope for the Christian as he faces the prospect of a coming death.

Because Jesus rose from the dead, we have the hope of the promise of a coming glorious, incorruptible body that God will create anew so that death is finally conquered. May this truth strengthen the hearts of God’s people to take hold of the power of resurrection to live for His glory this day. Amen.
