1 Corinthians 15:31, I Die Daily

1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

He speaks here of the dangers that he was exposed to daily that is life-threatening. Despite these dangers, he was courageous and trusted in God to accomplish the gospel work. He rejoices over the spiritual conversions and progress made in the spiritual lives of the Corinthian church.

He has to die to self daily, allowing the Spirit to lead him to accomplish God’s will. He not will allow any external threats nor internal fears to distract him to retract from Christ’s mission in His life. He testified in Galatians 2:20-21 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

May God’s servant, Paul’s life, be an example for our learning. Amen.
