1 Corinthians 15:5, He Was Seen

1 Corinthians 15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

The Apostle Paul testified the resurrected Christ appeared and was seen by Cephas or the Apostle Peter. This is the Peter who denied the Lord three times and yet the Lord was gracious to appear to him first. Jesus also appeared to the twelve disciples. It is proof of the resurrection by eye-witnesses. Jesus’ disciples testified of His resurrection. It is an eye-witness truth and is to be made known to the world. The resurrected Christ’s appearance to the disciples made them bold proclaimers of the truth of the resurrection from the Day of Pentecost.

Death is the greatest impasse for mankind. Man is born to die. None can escape. But for the Christians, we are born-again to live forever more. When the Christian dies, the Bible says, he is asleep, one day, when Christ returns, he will awake again! The resurrection is not just one aspect of the Christian faith but it is the cornerstone. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave is the greatest event in history. Because it signifies the blessed truth of man’s redemption. It is why we worship and singing praise to God because it signifies the reality of eternal life.

If Jesus did not rise from the dead then His death on the cross would have been meaningless and our faith in vain. But because did rise from the dead and live, therefore, we who believe in this gospel have life, eternal life and overcoming life, the power over sin to live victoriously for Him. Amen.
