1 Corinthians 13:6, Charity Rejoiceth In the Truth (1)

1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

There is no animosity between God’s love and His truth. They harmonise well. This is the blessed thought that we would like to meditate upon – “charity rejoices in the truth”. God’s love has no conflict with God’s truth because His love is the fulfilment of His truth.

The ultimate truth of God’s revelation is God sending His Son, fully God and yet fully man to save sinful man. Jesus is God’s only way of salvation for all mankind! It is the outworking of God’s love when God sent His Son. Any other way of salvation is untenable and false because it does not save sinful man from the judgment of sin. We cannot be happy holding on to falsehood because it condemns the unenlightened soul to everlasting judgment in hell fire. Love must rejoice in embracing the truth because it is safety and it is salvation.

True biblical love will not hesitate to declare God’s truth though the unacquainted heart listening may not appreciate this truth. In fact, he co-labours with the Holy Spirit in prayer with much joy so that the truth may bring conviction to the unsanctified heart. Amen.
