1 Corinthians 12:9, Gifts of Healing

1 Corinthians 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

The gifts of healing are available as a temporary manifestation of God’s power during the period before the completion of the Scriptures. Christ Himself cast out demons and healed those possessed with demons. He healed the sick, the maimed and blind and deaf. Indeed, He is God. And this power was manifested in the ministry of the Apostles and disciples sent out by Jesus during His lifetime. They were able to wreak healing as Jesus did.

It is observed in Scripture; there is a gradual withdrawal of this gift especially during the latter portions of the Acts of the Apostles. Timothy, the Apostle Paul’s spiritual son, was not healed of a stomach ailment. There are less and less written testimonies of healing.

God indeed is able to heal if He chooses to in answer to the prayer of His people. However, the prerogative to heal is of God. Amen.
