1 Corinthians 9:15, I Have Used None of These Things

1 Corinthians 9:15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

The Apostle Paul shares that he has not received support from the Corinthian church because he has chosen not to partake of the privilege accorded to God’s servants for their earthly need. He does so for the pure motive of advancing the gospel among the Corinthians.

Zodhiates said well, “He worked among them without the benefit of proper recognition. What is admirable about Paul among the Corinthians, however, was that in spite of their not recognizing and not properly deeming him as an apostle, he nevertheless did not desert them nor consider them unworthy of such a ministry.”

He understood Christ’s call for the gospel to be given to the Corinthians and he persevered in the work among them amidst much hardship as he taught Timothy in  2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. This is a servant’s heart that he tries to impart to his readers. Amen.
