1 Corinthians 7:24, Abide With God

1 Corinthians 7:24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

The believer is exhorted to keep trusting God and walking with Him whatever their vocation in life. The Word of God through the gospel has freed him from the bondage of sin. And he can shine for the Lord whatever vocation God has called him to.

Our Lord Jesus exhorted His disciples in John 15:4-8 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Abiding in God means to keep His commandments in the fear of God. There is fruitfulness in such a life. This is the blessing of being God’s children. There is spiritual bearing from God’s Word to guide and to prosper. Amen.
