Romans 15:13, Ye May Abound In Hope

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The Apostle Paul gives the benediction, invoking God’s blessing upon the believers in Rome that they may abound in hope through the filling of the Holy Spirit. Hope invigorates and imparts strength for their present task. In this context, the brethren may live peaceably and amicably in love one toward another, forbearing and forgiving, in unity and joy!

Truly, it is the spirit’s fruit that brings the fullness of joy and peace when believers exercise faith in obeying God’s instruction for blessed and harmonious relationships in the church. This is in accordance to what Jesus taught in John 15:9-12 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

The believers abounding in hope, experiences confidence, a sure hope, through faith in God fulfilling His promises to us even our change when we shall be like Christ at His coming. Even so, come quickly, Lord! Amen.
