Romans 15:5-6, With One Mind and One Mouth Glorify God

Romans 15:5-6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul express his desire in prayer that the God of steadfast endurance and encouragement will the strong and the weak believers in Rome to live in peace and harmony looking to Christ Jesus as their example par excellence. Forging unity in the worship of God.

William MacDondald observed well this text, “There are four mentions of the mouth in Romans, forming a biographical outline of a “well-saved soul.” At the beginning, his mouth was full of cursing and bitterness (3:14). Then his mouth was stopped, and he was brought in guilty before the Judge (3:19). Next, he confesses with his mouth Jesus as Lord (10:9). And finally, his mouth is actively praising and worshiping the Lord (15:6).” Growing in spiritual stature until we reach spiritual maturity.

We observe that the Scripture is the indispensable element for change in the believers’ spiritual life. When believers immerse themselves in the deep study of God’s Word, there will be a change from within as the word sanctifies them. May God’s people be willing to be actively engaged in the study of His Word for spiritual progress. Amen.
