Romans 11:12, When Israel is Restored

Romans 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Israel’s witness for God has been set aside because they rejected the gospel. The Gentiles have benefitted from God’s rejection of Israel. Salvation came upon the Gentiles and with it, the riches of the glory in Christ Jesus was accorded to them. It is our high privilege that God’s grace comes to the Gentiles. The Apostle Paul witnessed to the European continent, and the gospel was extended there and to America and to Asia. We are the beneficiaries of God’s grace due to Israel’s fall. Thank God for His grace!

The Apostle Paul is predicting that when Israel be restored to her former glory as a nation under Jesus Christ, she would be such a great blessing to the nations. It will be yet future. An event that will take place at the close of the Great Tribulation when Jesus Christ will return to save Israel and all Israel shall be saved. She shall be restored to her former glory under the great David, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Daniel was given the prophecy of Israel’s restoration. This is Daniel’s record:

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

The final kingdom on earth is the reign of Jesus Christ from Jerusalem for a thousand years. Man’s kingdom will give way to God’s kingdom. Israel shall be restored to be the foremost nation of the world under her Christ. What a glorious time is coming. As we see the tensions in the Middle East with the Arab nations gathering 350,000 troops threatening Israel to give up the Golan Heights for peace. We see God working His perfect plan that will result in the salvation of all Israel in the time to come. When will it be? What a blessing to see Israel restored to her former glory. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen.
