Romans 10:12-15, Labourers with God

Romans 10:12-15 (KJV) 12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Let the gospel be preached to all men with no distinction of race. And all who will hearken to the gospel’s call shall be saved. Christianity is man’s only hope. As the late Dr. Martyn Lloyd observed well, “I say that because this gospel is the only hope in the world today. Everything else has been tried and found wanting. Everything else has failed. You will not find hope with the philosophers or with the statesmen, and you will not find it in the so-called religion of the world. Here is hope, and here alone.”

The gospel is personally and powerfully declared by our Lord during His earthly ministry. And amidst physical toil, He spared no effort but covered the grounds to help the people. He saw the sad plight of the people without hope and help. And He urged His disciples to pray that the Holy Spirit would move men and women who will be willing to be sent forth to preach the gospel to the fainted and scattered multitude.

Matthew 9:35-38 (KJV) 35  And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36  But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37  Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38  Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Jesus sets the example. When He went to the cities and villages in Israel, men and women found real peace with God and men through the gospel. What great news! May God raise labourers with a willing and prepared heart and send them forth to the harvest. Amen.
