Romans 8:29, Chosen!

Romans 8:29 (KJV) 29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

God choose beforehand, determine in advance in eternity past, whom He will save to bear the name of His Son upon the earth in his lifetime. To be chosen by the Father, purchased by the Son and sealed by the Spirit. What a great privilege it is to be called into faith and to live the life of faith.

To be conformed to the character of Christ in the fullness of His attribute is opened to us through the written testimony of His life in the gospels and all Scripture! We see His utmost humility and obedience to do the Father’s will. Alas, the Apostle Paul has been sharing with us the believer’s struggle in a sin-ridden world. He tells us that there is a supernatural element of it all. God is in charge of our lives and He will lead us in holiness and spiritual maturity through the experiences of life. He tells us that God knows from beginning to end how He will work out our lives and it shall be blessed.

Time will come when we shall meet Jesus Christ in His glory at His second coming and be transformed to possess a glorious body like His after the resurrection. At that time, sin shall no longer have any power, any dominion over us. Jesus will receive the honour and obeisance as the firstborn amongst glorified men.

We look forward to that day of glory. We cherish each day on earth to see God working out His good purpose for our lives as His chosen people to His great honour. May He strengthen His people with renewed hope, peace and joy for His service. Amen.
