We Are the Children of God

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

The Holy Spirit bears witness together with our spirit the immaterial part of us, to testify that we are the children of God. This affirmation in the heart comes with the understanding that our sins have all been forgiven in Christ. There is no rebuke in our conscience. All our sins have been washed clean in the blood of Jesus Christ. God’s peace and joy abides in our heart.

The power of the gospel to save is a transforming experience in our lives. It gives us spiritual strength to overcome sin through prayer. We have a lifeline to God through prayer that gains for us access to spiritual blessings. We experienced them and, therefore we testify!

We are able to praise God as the psalmist does in Psalm 103:1-5 A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The power of God in our lives is real and we cannot deny it. We can only thank God for it. All praise and glory to His holy name. Amen.
