Romans 6:16, Obedience Unto Righteousness

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

We are a servant to whom we obey. If we yield to sin, we face God’s judgement. If we choose to walk with God, then we must not yield to sin. We have a choice. Making a sanctified choice is pleasing in God’s sight. Be not a slave to sin. The Apostle Paul reasons with your heart to choose to obey God.

Daniel as a young man in exile in Babylon purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat nor with the wine which he drink (Dan. 1:8). Together with his three friends, Daniel chose to obey God, lived holy lives. God endowed them with surpassing wisdom.

Daniel 1:17-21 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. 21 And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.

When we yield to God, He blessed us with His presence in our lives. We become a mighty witness for Him. May the Lord use you for His glory as you daily yield to His Word. Amen.
