Romans 1:18-19, Be Sure Your Sins Will Find You Out

Romans 1:18-19 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

The Bible gives a chronological record of God’s wrath against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. God’s wrath is manifested when Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden after man’s fall.  When Cain murdered his brother Abel, God cursed Cain to be a fugitive and vagabond all his life. When the heart of men was evil continually, God judged the world with a global flood. Only Noah, a just man, and his family was saved because he believed God and walked with God. When men built the Tower of Babel and exalting themselves, rejecting the worship of the living and true God, God’s judgement came to confound their language and scatter them abroad. When the men in Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh (Jude 7), God judged the two cities with fire and brimstone from heaven. When men sin against God, he cannot escape the wrath of God. There is no where to hide from God because He is all-knowing, all-present and all-powerful. Because He is just and He is holy, God has to judge us according to our sins. But there is remedy when we repent of our sins and confess them before God in prayer, He forgives us – 1 John 1:9 tell us that if we confess our sins, he (God)  is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God puts in man a moral conscience therefore man has an innate capacity for know good from evil, right from wrong. When man sin, his conscience will give him no peace. May God help us to confess our sins before Him and make right where we have sinned. Amen.
