Lord’s Day, Vol. 3 No. 15

(1) Sunrise Service

Thank God for BHBPC’s first Sunrise Service held at the Gardens by the Bay on Easter Sunday with about 46 in attendance. The message “Christ Arose” was taken from Mark 16:1-8 considering (1) The Early Riser’s Blessing (v1-5) and The Excited Witnesses’ Message (v6-8).

Thank God for impressing upon our hearts the reality and conviction of the resurrection of Jesus Christ through the Holy Scriptures so that we may say as Job did in Job 19:25, “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.”

Truly, we rejoice to imbibe the truth in our hearts that death has lost its sting (1 Cor. 15:55). We are encouraged to share with others the hope of the gospel as the disciples did.

(2) Mobile Church App

On 25 March 2015, BHBPC mobile app goes ‘live’ in iTunes and in the Android store where members and friends can download the ‘app’ for free. Search under “Blessed Hope Church” and you would be able to locate the icon for download.

Church App for Web

App features include daily KJV Bible Text and Reading Plan, Devotions (currently we are on JC Ryle’s Expository Thoughts on the Gospel of John), Weekly Newsletter, Sermons, Facebook, Website and an instant messaging system for real time communication with users. Do avail yourself with this new facility for your spiritual enrichment and edification.

(3) Ministry to the Homes

Visitations to the aged, sick and families in need are an integral part of our church ministry. The church gives special attention to these as James said in James 1:27a, ‘Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction…’

There are members and friends that we endeavour to reach out on a regular basis through visitations in their homes, in the hospitals or through real-time communication via the telephone or ‘sms’.

This ministry centres upon prayers, words of comfort and counsel from the Scriptures and hymns and choruses of faith and assurance.

There is this John Sung chorus that we often sing “Keep on Believing”.

Keep on believing, Jesus is near

Keep on believing, there’s nothing to fear

Keep on believing, this is the way

Faith in the night as well as the day.

Indeed we are to keep on believing as we serve the Lord in this ministry that ministers God’s peace and comfort. By the grace of God, we may be channels of blessings and be ourselves strengthened in the inner man by the Holy Spirit. May God raise up more labourers to serve in this needful ministry.

Yours lovingly,

Pr. Lek Aik Wee
