Lord’s Day, Vol. 3 No. 3

(1) First Anniversary Thanksgiving Service

Thank God for a blessed First Anniversary Thanksgiving Service. The congregation gathered to give thanks for God’s grace in seeing BHBPC through the year. Rev. Dr. Tow Siang Hwa, our pastoral advisor, conducted the Lord’s Supper, in remembrance of the Lord. He had earlier requested that I preach on his behalf the anniversary message – the Old Hundredth. The following was the outline of the message based on Psalm 100:

1. The Manner of Thanksgiving (v1-4)

a. Triumphantly (v1)

b. Sacrificially (v2a)

c. Personally (v2b)

d. Intelligently (v3)

e. Gratefully (v4a)

f. Penitently (v4b)

g. Wholeheartedly (v4c)

2. The Motivation for Thanksgiving (v5)

a. His Unfailing Goodness (v5a)

b. His Enduring Mercies (v5b)

c. His Abiding Promises (v5c)

Our Youth Choir presented “To God Be the Glory” to the honour and praise of our great God.

The Lord has indeed guided us through the first year. We continue to look to Him as we begin this new year of service, that we may serve Him faithfully to His glory.

(2) Church Visitation Ministry

Thank God for gathering a team to begin BHBPC first monthly visitation on 10 January 2015. We met at the Salvation Army premises and set off after a word of prayer for God’s blessing. We went to the home of Elder and Mrs Tow Siang Yeow. Thank God for safety granted in travel. We sang several hymns of praise from the Revival Hymns and Choruses with sister Phoebe playing the piano.

Exhortation of God’s Word was taken from Psalm 34:7-10,The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.”

Thank God for a blessed time of meditation of His Word and fellowship. We meet for visitation at 2pm every second Saturday of the month. Please pray for God’s guidance for the visitation team. As the Lord lead, do come and be a part of this care ministry.

Yours lovingly in Christ,

Ps. Lek Aik Wee
