Lord’s Day, Vol. 14 No. 22

Lord’s Day, Vol. 14 No. 22

Family Bible Camp 2026

The theme of this year’s camp is “And They That Be Wise” taken from Daniel 12:3 (KJV) And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Daniel was a faithful follower of the LORD in the faithless world of his time. He was a shining example of one who stood firm for God. His faith in God was uncompromising, unflinching and unshakable. There is much to learn from the life of Daniel for the people of God today. We shall endeavour to study the life of Daniel in this year’s camp.

Living in the last of the last days, the last, last hour of human history before our Lord Jesus Christ’s return, where evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived (2 Tim. 3:13), God’s people are exhorted to be like a Daniel, to have the spiritual courage to dare to be a Daniel, standing on the promises of God!

This year, we shall be gathered in the same camp site and in the same meeting room as we did in June 2022 where the world just came out of the COVID-19 pandemic that began in December 2019. Harrowing time of devastating consequences, still felt today! Recall, our theme was “Be Strong in the Lord” taken from Ephesians 6:10-12. [https://www.blessedhope.sg/church-camp-2022-be-strong-in-the-lord/] The pandemic was to close the church. Thank God, we were not shut and did not shut!

Has the enemy’s plan been postponed? No, not at all. It seemed right on schedule for 2030! The one world government, the kingdom of the Antichrist, seemed to be on track to arise. Surely, the rapture of the church is near! Nearer than we think. The polarization of the world today, seemed set for the advancement to the ten-toes of the Revived Roman Empire in the figure of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel chapter 2, leading to the rise of the Antichrist. This is a momentous milestone in the fulfilment of prophecy!

In the parable of the Persistent Widow in Luke 18:1, our Lord exhorted the church to this end, “that men ought always to pray, and not to faint”. Prayer is the believer’s power with God. Persistence in prayer is not the natural habit of the believer. This parable encourages us to never stop praying even in the toughest of circumstances. Daniel was a prayer warrior for our learning. The parable ended with these words in Luke 18:8 (KJV) … Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Verse 8 gives then gives the punch line for every believer living in the days just prior to Jesus’ Second Coming to show our faith by our good work of persevering prayer and witnessing. Will the believer exercise faith to continually come to his/her Lord in prayer even amidst great persecution, unbelief and apostasy in the times nearing the Lord’s Second Coming? The time is also nearing toward the formation of the one world church. Persecution will come when we hold fast to the old time gospel – Jesus only saves! When persecution comes, when we are helpless like the widow against overwhelming odds and enemies, we are exhorted to continue to pray.

True believers will persistently wait with patient trust. Will Jesus find faith on earth? The answer is “no”. What a grave state of affairs for mankind! Daniel’s faith shone through for our learning! Amen.
