James 5:8 The Coming Of The Lord Draweth Nigh

James 5:8 (KJV) Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

The word “patient” speaks of patience in the face of challenging circumstances. It is a command that describes action not begun.

The illustration of a farmer waiting for the former and latter rain to prepare the harvest – James 5:7 (KJV)  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Let the heart be fixed, trusting in the Lord whilst preparing the ground in sowing and cultivating and reaping. For the time shall come when the gospel work is complete when the Lord returns. That time is soon! Amen.
