1 John 5:4 For Whosoever Is Born Of God Overcometh The World

1 John 5:4 (KJV) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

The world, the system of all that is opposed to God, Satan’s dominion, is broken by Christ in His death and resurrection from the dead. All who come Christ, having repented of their sins, received new life through Him.

This new life in Christ, described as one who “is born of God” overcometh the world. This victory over the world is wrought through faith.

Faith in Christ and His power to subdue the devil, the world, and the fallen self. Amen.
