Psalm 136:1 O Give Thanks Unto The LORD

Psalm 136:1 (KJV) O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.

Give thanks unto the LORD is the psalmist’s exhortation for the LORD is good. God’s people do so because they are constantly receiving good of the LORD.

The consciousness of God’s active care gives cause for thanksgiving. God is compassionate to grant relieve for His people in their miserable estate of sin. He forgives His people of their sin so that they may be reconciled to Him.

Thus the impetus for constant thanksgiving. For His mercy endureth forever. Amen.
